Welcome to Maggie's Little Studio! 🎨✨
It’s a wonder to be able to manifest what I see in the world onto a piece of paper — as a kid, I slowly learned that those manifestations can change to my will…. that a cat could be more than a cat. It could have a mermaid’s tail. it could have the neck of a giraffe. It could have the tail of a horse. It meant that I could conjure whatever world I wanted, onto a surface.  And when I was introduced to pigments, all those worlds became uncannily technicolored.Â
I’ve been away from those technicolored dream worlds for about 15 years... but in 2023, I picked up where I left off. I’ve found my expression across the map of my own life, the cities I’ve visited, the people I’ve met along the way, and the prospect that the colors of the universe don't mind existing in the realms of an artist’s imagination and interpretation.Â
Welcome to Maggie’s little studio! I’m an artist with roots in both Melbourne and Cairo, and I work with acrylics, watercolors, and ink on canvas, wood, and paper. Although my formal studies are in Comparative Literature, I also minored in fine arts and photojournalism. After completing the foundational courses, I’m proud to say I’m largely self-taught. The one thing I’ve learned along the way after 15 years of absence from painting is this: it’s never too late to pick up the brush again. Every stroke is a fresh start, no matter where you’re beginning.
